Shenzhen BIM Promotion Association Successfully Completes Leadership Transition Election, Embarking on a New Journey for the Industry!

On the afternoon of January 17, 2025, the Member Assembly and Re-election Meeting of the Shenzhen Association for the Innovation and Development of the Building Information Model Industry (abbreviated as 'Shenzhen BIM Association') was successfully held at the Shenzhen Metro Building. As a newly admitted member, the Shenzhen Branch of Shanghai Zhuwei Architectural Technology Co., Ltd. attached great importance to this meeting and sent representatives to actively participate, gathering together with representatives of more than 100 member organizations from across the country to witness this industry event.

During the meeting, our representatives took part earnestly in the voting of the re-election and conducted extensive and in-depth exchanges with other member organizations. In these exchanges, we shared the company's practical experience in applying BIM technology, while also learning humbly from industry experts and other member organizations, and jointly discussed the application scenarios and solutions of BIM technology throughout the full life cycle of buildings. Through this exchange, we not only gained a deeper understanding of the new trends and opportunities in industry development, but also learned more advanced technologies, further enriching our own knowledge system.

As the first agenda item of the re-election meeting, Deputy Director Song Yan of the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Housing and Construction delivered an important speech. Director Song first gave full recognition to the outstanding achievements of the Shenzhen BIM Association under the leadership of President Liu Shuya. He pointed out that in its past work the association had served as a bridge and bond, establishing a sound working mechanism; had played the role of an expert think tank, providing solid professional and technical support for BIM work in Shenzhen; and had acted as a platform for publicity, creating a good demonstration effect across the city. Regarding the work following the re-election, Director Song expressed high expectations and offered guiding suggestions, including further strengthening industry self-regulation to achieve the healthy and sustainable development of the city's BIM industry; further enhancing the industry's influence and elevating the standing of Shenzhen enterprises in the BIM field at home and abroad; and further strengthening diversified talent development to build a reserve of more interdisciplinary talents who combine engineering and BIM technical skills.

Subsequently, President Liu Shuya delivered the work report of the First Council, elaborating on the objectives achieved by the association since its establishment: smoothing government-association communication and serving as a bond; undertaking research projects to support precise policymaking; leading through standards innovation and regulating technical practices; evaluating demonstration projects and setting guiding benchmarks; broadening career channels and improving the talent pipeline; creating branded activities to expand industry influence; building a new media matrix to create a transparent window; fostering peer collaboration and extending the industrial chain; using Party building to drive association building and playing a pioneering role; and consolidating association development to promote steady growth.

Afterwards, Yang Tong, representing the Supervisor Board Chair organization Shenzhen Geotechnical Investigation and Surveying Institute (Group) Co., Ltd., delivered the work report of the First Supervisor Board. The report showed that during its term the Supervisor Board had conscientiously performed its duties and conducted effective oversight; the Council had strictly implemented the Articles of Association, held council meetings as required, and made compliant and valid resolutions; and the Secretariat had improved its institutional development, maintained financial statements in compliance with requirements, and had dedicated staff committed to serving all members.

Next, Secretary-General Li Liangsheng introduced in turn the Articles of Association (Partially Revised Version), the Measures for the Re-election, and the List of Nominated Chief Scrutineers, Scrutineers, and Vote Counters, all of which were passed by vote of the assembly. Then, according to the arrangements of the assembly, the representatives used QR-code-based anonymous electronic voting to elect in turn the new council members, supervisors, supervisor board chair, vice presidents, and president. Shenzhen Metro Group Co., Ltd. was elected with a high vote count as the president organization of the Second Council, and Liu Shuya was re-elected as president; Shenzhen Geotechnical Investigation and Surveying Institute (Group) Co., Ltd. was re-elected with a high vote count as the supervisor board chair organization of the Second Council, and Qi Mingzhu was re-elected as supervisor board chair. In his acceptance remarks, President Liu Shuya pledged to continue striving for new achievements for the association through the joint efforts of all member organizations, under the leadership of the Council, and with the guidance and support of government departments.

Immediately after the First Member Assembly of the Second Council, the First Council Meeting of the Second Council was held. Chaired by President Liu Shuya of the Second Council, the meeting nominated Wang Bo of Shenzhen Municipal Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. as the candidate for Secretary-General of the Second Council, which was passed by vote of the Council; subsequently, the president nominated Li Liangsheng, Secretary-General of the First Council, as Honorary Secretary-General, which was confirmed by the Council.

At the start of the Fifth Member Assembly of the First Council, held concurrently with this meeting, Xin Yehong, Vice President and Secretary of the Party Branch of the association, delivered the 2024 annual report on behalf of the legal person, elaborating on the following eight main areas of work: regulating technical practices and advancing standards development; undertaking professional title reviews and building up the talent pipeline; undertaking project evaluations and promoting industrial development; holding regular lectures and honing the brand effect; strengthening association development and promoting steady growth; enhancing the new media matrix and polishing the promotional window; conducting peer exchanges and jointly promoting industry progress; and strengthening Party building to play a leading role.

After the work report, the award and recognition session began. Representatives of 36 member organizations honored as 'Outstanding Individuals' and representatives of 5 organizations recognized as 'Active Contributors to Industry Activities,' in high spirits, took the stage one after another to receive their awards; the attending leaders and guests presented certificates to the winners and offered warm congratulations and encouragement.

This meeting provided member organizations with a valuable platform for exchange and learning, and laid a solid foundation for the future development of the association. Through this meeting, we deeply felt the new trends and opportunities in industry development, learned more advanced technologies, and further enriched our own knowledge system.

Looking to the future, we will continue to learn, explore, and innovate with a more humble attitude, full enthusiasm, and a rigorous spirit, striving to improve our technical capabilities and service capacity and actively integrating into the broader landscape of Shenzhen's BIM industry development. We hope to contribute our part to the development of the Shenzhen BIM Association and to add to the digital transformation of the construction industry and the building of smart cities.
