On July 23, the Notice of the General Office of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development on Printing and Distributing the List of Replicable Experiences and Practices for Developing Smart Construction (Fourth Batch) was released. Five of Chengdu's experiences made the list and will be promoted nationwide.

Which of Chengdu's experiences and practices won praise from the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (MOHURD)?

One experience relates to improving the policy system for smart construction: issuing credit policies to encourage pilot enterprises and pilot projects to actively apply smart construction technologies.

Three experiences relate to enriching the technology system for smart construction. First, establishing an integrated industry-academia-research collaboration mechanism: setting up the “Chengdu Rongzhu Smart Construction Innovation R&D and Industry Promotion Center” , gathering together the advantageous resources of 26 leading enterprises, institutions of higher learning, and research institutes, and building an integrated “R&D + design + manufacturing + construction + service” platform to achieve regional sharing of smart construction technologies and market linkage. Second, advancing breakthroughs in key technologies and the transformation of achievements: promoting the transformation and application of a batch of smart construction technology R&D achievements. Third, strengthening the tracking and evaluation of pilot demonstration projects: publishing the list of 2024 smart construction pilot projects.

One experience relates to cultivating the industrial system for smart construction: exploring a model for cultivating professional and technical talent. By hosting smart construction skills competitions, technical seminars, and special training sessions, the theoretical and technical level of smart construction professionals is enhanced, driving the industry to upgrade from labor-intensive to technology-intensive.

In accordance with the requirements of documents such as the Guiding Opinions of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and Other Departments on Promoting the Coordinated Development of Smart Construction and Building Industrialization (Jianshi 〔2020〕No. 60) and the Notice of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development on Publishing the Pilot Cities for Smart Construction (Jianshihan 〔2022〕No. 82), localities have taken pilot demonstrations as a lever to accelerate the improvement of the policy system, industrial system, and technology pathways for developing smart construction, and have achieved positive results in promoting the transformation and development of the construction industry. The fourth batch of the list of replicable experiences and practices is hereby printed and distributed to you; please study and draw on it in light of actual conditions.
