The Application Standard for Building Information Modeling Technology in Prefabricated Concrete Buildings has been approved as a Shenzhen local standard for engineering construction, numbered SJG 183-2024, and will take effect on March 1, 2025. The standard text can be downloaded from the portal website of the Shenzhen Municipal Housing and Construction Bureau.
This notice is hereby issued.

Introduction to the Standard


This standard is formulated in order to implement the national, provincial and municipal policies on prefabricated buildings, carry out the requirements for the application of building information modeling technology in prefabricated concrete buildings in Shenzhen, and improve the efficiency and benefits of building information modeling technology application in prefabricated concrete buildings. This standard applies to the application of building information modeling technology during the planning, design, production and construction stages throughout the whole construction process of prefabricated concrete building projects in Shenzhen.

Key Milestones of This Standard


In March 2019, the group standard Application Standard for Building Information Modeling Technology in Prefabricated Concrete Buildings was approved for project initiation, and on March 31, 2020, the group standard was officially released.
On June 22, 2020, the group standard Application Standard for Building Information Modeling Technology in Prefabricated Concrete Buildings applied for initiation as a local standard and was approved.
On April 20, 2023, the consultation draft of the Application Standard for Building Information Modeling Technology in Prefabricated Concrete Buildings was completed, and public comments were formally solicited through the Shenzhen Municipal Housing and Construction Bureau.
June 2023 to February 2024, the drafting group discussed the collected comments on the standard in detail and, in light of the market characteristics of Shenzhen, extended the application of the scoring rules based on Document No. 13 to the design detailing, component production and on-site construction stages of prefabricated buildings, with different depth requirements proposed for different stages, so that the Application Standard for Building Information Modeling Technology in Prefabricated Concrete Buildings genuinely meets the characteristics of prefabricated buildings.

On March 30, 2024, according to the conclusions of an internal meeting, the content of the Application Standard for Building Information Modeling Technology in Prefabricated Concrete Buildings was required to be further improved to make the BIM characteristics more prominent. The chief editor organization Zhubo Design led the improvement of the model unit attribute information table and the related content of the main text, and completed the review submission draft on April 18.
